Energy Automation
Today and with the increase in electrical power consumption and electrical loads, power systems in generation, transmission and distribution fields are changing to be more efficient and reliable to decrease the costs and power shut down. Using intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) to have smart networks and digital grids based on IEC61850 standard in energy systems will meet industries future demands. The IEC 61850 standard and protocol has been defined in cooperation with manufacturers and users to create a uniform, future-proof basis for the protection, communication and control of power substations. Different automation systems like DCS, SAS, LMS, EMS, PMS and PDCS in electrical substations have the responsibility to achieve higher efficiency.

Power Distribution Control System (PDCS) is an automation system in electrical substations of plants in different industries for monitoring and control of power distribution equipment (Switchgears, UPSs, Generators, and Transformers) remotely and make substations to be unmanned.
Conventional PDCS system which is PLC-based hardware will support register based protocols such as Profibus, Modbus and hardwire signals. As a new concept, IED-based PDCS are ready to use different protocols suitable for power systems with following more advantages in comparison to conventional type.
- Signal time tagging. All signals can be easily be time tagged to accurate processing of faults and events.
- Signal Buffering. If there is a cable disconnection, signals will be buffered.
- Event based signal transmission
- More smart configuration of feeders and devices to be just a register space
- Cabling decrease
- Fast Loadshedding and other power functions
- Point to point communication between IEDs by Goose messaging protocol
- Devices from different vendors with smart protocols can be integrated into the system

IED based automation systems will be configured in 3 levels as it is mentioned in below.
Feeder Level:
Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) such as protection relays, measuring centers, … in updated model which are modular, flexible and smart based on smart protocols such as IEC61850, IEC60870-5-101, IEC60870-5-104.
Bay Level:
Common Bay Controller Units (BCU) and Ethernet switches will gather data in different type from hardwire to other protocols.
Station Level:
PC based and software-oriented system with servers and also hardware oriented with RTUs and gateways.
As a system integrator we will do all Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases including engineering detail design, engineering documentation, system drawings, system programming, panel manufacturing and assembling, Factory test, packing, delivery, site test, commissioning and training to engineers or operators.
